[...] Looks like Shuba made a post regarding concept art for my/our next collaboration – RocketFrog. I’m not going to spill any details yet other than its an Android game. Stay tuned for updates as the game’s physics are all worked out and its all about making it a game at this point. [...]

Another note. One of my favorite quotes:
"All men can see the tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved."

Watching pros will only give you the product of what's going on in their minds. The commentators will try to pick up on it, but they will always be guessing or totally behind. I think its better when they don't know or guess just so it's more exciting.

The choices between:
Doing something solid.
Doing something because of things I know about my opponent.
Doing things because of what my opponent knows about me.

Now, rooks will see a game, do the builds with no scouting. Either win or lose. Doesn't matter. They really get no exp from the game (other than muscle mem). BECAUSE. They didn't base their decisions on anything the opponent did.

You gotta develop your guts, or intuition, your feel for it. Always have an idea of what your opponent is doing, based on buildings / army you see. And THEN you have grounds to try an experiment. And then you will learn if your build (or branch of a build) works against what you saw.

The problem I see Is that too much knowledge, and opinions from different people can be paralyzing. What's good for someone might not be good for all. People have different styles, and by practicing you find yours.

Sometimes when I've done all the preparation to take on a new project. I get a sudden uneasyness, for starcraft, the fear is "What happens if I try my best and still fail, If I know so much more about the game, and still lose to a lesser or equal player. What does it say about me, or my skills?"

This fear can apply to any task. But experience in what you do determines what methods are true for you. It gives you the answers to your questions. With experience you will find your true style.
